Janette Help!!

Please talk numbers to me and tell me that H.R.C. still can't win the nomination...

I'm having trouble finding anything Obama-related that isn't about Reverend NutJob and I'm thinking if they don't muzzle this man he's not only going to scare away the undecided democrats, he's also going to give the republicans and independents a reason to not vote for Obama.

Thankfully, I still have Jon Stewart to get me through these tough times! (the link goes to the video in case it doesn't embed properly)

O. M. G. I can't decide if I'm horrified or amused by the wall to wall Rev. Wright coverage. It's awful but it's also funny when they do things like this: John King (CNN) reports that 75% of viewers surveyed are sick of the Wright coverage AND USES THAT TO SEGUE INTO YET ANOTHER WRIGHT SEGMENT. Hahahaha!

:: sigh ::

Anyway I got so sick of it that even I turned off the news channels yesterday. And I haven't watched today because I just don't care anymore. :-D

Well mathematically Hillary still can't win UNLESS the superdelegates hand it to her at the convention (against the apportioned delegates which she'll certainly be behind in).

I've said the entire time that the only way she could win is by the usual Stupid Evil Clinton Tricks. That's what you're seeing now.

Barbara Reynolds, an "enthusiastic Hillary Clinton supporter", is the woman who arranged Wright's appearance at the Press Club and then the media coverage of it...well, is there anyone out there who still thinks the media isn't on Hillary's side? Heck, even the RNC has taken out something like a $500,000 worth of ads against Obama, not Obama and Hillary, just Obama.

On the bright side, it came out yesterday that Hillary has requested $2.3 BILLION in earmarks for the 2009 fiscal year for New York state. (A new record, by far, for any senator ever.) That's a pretty good indicator that she's trying to make certain that her NY senate seat is secure.

In other words, even thought she's still in the race for president even Hillary knows that the odds are against her so she's making certain that she's still got her senate job just in case.

As for the numbers:

Obama leads in pledged delegates(1489 to 1333), overall delegates (1729 to 1594), the popular vote (14,447,568 to 13,964,439), and total number of contests won (29 to 15).

If you take the projected winners for the final primaries, AND add Florida in, Obama is still ahead by over 200,000 votes. The only way Clinton "wins" the popular vote (her newest talking point metric) is if she gets to add Michigan which isn't likely because Obama wasn't on the ballot in that state.

Does that make you feel better?

slightly.

thank you!

Oh, more concretely, if you forget about the projected winners of the remaining primaries - Hillary would have to win each remaining state by 60% of the vote to gain the lead in apportioned delegates.

She obviously can't do that. Pffft, Hillary won her home state of New York (the Great Land of Clinton Earmarks) by 57%, she's certainly not going to do better than that in EVERY remaining state.

Okay, I think I'm finished now. Of course you probably quit reading a while ago. That'll teach you to ask me a political question. ;-P
